I have an InTank media basket on my IM Nuvo 10, and I noticed that it doesn't lean all the way forward into the overflow, leaving a small gap for water to flow down missing the basket entirely. Is this normal? Right now it's cycling, so I just have some filter pad on top and SeaChem Matrix in the third compartment. I tried to get a pic

Is your media basket facing the correct way.

Look at around the 4 min mark

Iirc the IM10 basket needs a little bit of jiggle and pressure to get it under the overflow lip and it doesn't appear that yours is down far enough. The basket's handle shouldn't be above the rim of the tank.

Okay, I'll check on that!

I can also "force" the basket to lean forward more, but the waterflow ends up pushing it back.

could it have anything at all to do with how much matrix I have in the third compartment?

The only ways I would see the third compartment becoming an issue is if it were to clog or prevent the sliding door from going all the way down... which is something you can check too and watch as you put it in the chamber

I'll check that. Maybe I'm WAY overthinking it (classic me, haha). I do know that the vast majority of the water overflowing is going into the media basket. I just don't want any gunk to miss the filter floss and get stuck or clog the walls around it. But maybe the physics of it all make it unlikely for that to happen.

mah, my filter floss got plenty dirty when it is fully seated
from the pic does mine not look fully seated? And the reason my floss is so clean is I'm cycling, nothing really to dirty it (if that's what you're referring to)

Oh, sorry. I didn't mean for that to come across like that. I was referring more than the filter floss will dirty up and perform well.

It does look like the basket is sitting high. the pulling handle should be flush with the top of the glass and it is sitting above it. I wish I still had my basket so I could double check it and post it.

Ah, my apologies, I misunderstood! :)

I did reach out to InTank, and they said that my setup looks completely normal and it shouldn’t be an issue. I think my original photo makes it seem like it’s higher than usual. And I did take it out to make sure there wasn’t anything below it causing it to stick up higher. Here are some more pics showing that it’s maybe a millimeter from flush
