Interested about learning about iodine and its importance.

I have seen in videos of bigger places that they dose and test iodine and dose hefty amounts.
Does anyone test and dose iodine, if so how are you testing, and how are you dosing?
Have you seen your corals look notably better after dosing and getting your iodine in check?
Also, another one is manganese I have heard is an element to water out for with gonis and my gonis used to look great and they have been alive but sulking recently. Wonder if I should take a gander at that.

All right how much are you dosing daily, or are you weekly? and have you noticed differences before and after dosing?

I do 6-8 drops a day of seachem iodide in a 125 gallon tank packed with acros. Can't say I've noticed a difference solely from iodine because it's just one of the elements I dose.

iodine importance is a maybe/probably for corals depending on who you talk to. It may be more important indirectly in affecting other aspects of what happens in the water. Mn is an actual for-certain needed element.

I know it is very popular to claim great benefits from iodine, but I am less convinced of its benefit for most organisms. That said, if you think it might be useful to dose it in your tank, it is cheap and easy to test it and see if it is by dosing iodide for a bit and looking for apparent changes. I didn't see any in my tank.
