I know there's lots of discussion on adding hydrogen peroxide in tanks. It was either in this forum or another one I frequent that someone was talking about a Sochting Oxydator. Several posters are against using HP at all. But I'm interested in the SO, and not for curing algae, though I occasionally have outbreaks of it.
When I do, I find that the water is low in mag and by dosing that the algae goes away. The reason I'm interested in it is for the dissolved oxygen it puts in the water and at a very low, constant rate. I watched a utube video on the SO and it really peaked my interest. Very hard to get these things in the US--I looked. I would need the medium size and the one site that offered it was sold out if it.
I use HP in my 6800-gallon pond to treat fish for abrasions, and to kill algae. It's worked great for that, though it's a large dose one or twice a spring/summer depending on the problem.
Does anyone here use the SO, and what are your impressions?
