Most of the posts on here I see are about how great a fish looks or what awesome colors a coral has. I am more interested in odd behaviors things in our tanks have and would rather stock with these types of species over looks. So I was hoping I could start a thread that can act as a future shopping list of sorts for my 'behavioral reef'. This can be fish, corals, inverts, etc.. Of course mostly everything about this hobby is interesting.

So far I have
- Pistol Shrimp/ Goby pair - love symbiotic relationships, and how I can hear my shrimp 'popping' from another room
- Corris Wrasse - love how he tucks himeself to sleep at night in the sand
- Sand sifting goby - yeah it is his job, but still love to stare at him gobble up sand like he has a bottomless stomach

What interesting 'behaviors' do you have in your tank?

Barnacle blennies are small colonial fish that tuck themselves into little holes in the rock with just there heads sticking out. During feeding they quickly dart out and zoom back to their crevice.,

Diamond gobies are popular for their constantly taking sand into their mouth and filtering it through their gills.

My lawnmower blenny eats with a vengeance, as though he has to surprise that algae.

Cool about the blennies. I have a lawnmower blenny that likes to hang out on rocks

What does the hawkish do?

They are known as a fish with a TON of personality. They lack swim-bladders so they jump from perch to perch to watch everything that goes on beneath them, often moving only their eyes back and forth watching you, or just waiting for food to pass so they can swoop down and grab it. Just an interesting fish to sit and watch.

Wow they are peculiar fish. Love there color but don't think it will work in my tank with gobies, blenny and shrimp. Thanks for the suggestions.

Anyone else have any interesting or peculiar species recommendations?

Keep the thread going.

My Starry Blenny likes to wrap him self in the folds of the toadstool like a taco. Best fish I ever bought haha

My cleaner shrimp will ride the side of my tang while cleaning it

I've got a tailspot Benny that has three empty snail shells as his hiding place, he rotates between each she'll every 24 hours which I think is just odd

I had conch which did some interesting flips, but they did not last long..not sure why and have not tried since then.
