Interesting colony growing on glass

Found this while doing maintenance and thought it was interesting. The entire web is about the size of my pinky nail.

Some sort of algae I guess?

I've heard heard the name but know nothing about them. Good or bad?

Some reefers eradicate them on site as they can bother corals and tak over pretty fast.

I've never personally dealt with them so I have no personal experience.

Never used to bother my corals and looked cool on my rocks. There are alot of variations tho so if you are worried about it remove them while you can.
