I am bored... No work here at my shop.
What are some interesting facts that will entertain the masses of bored readers here at r2r!!

Two Apollo missions were saved by duct tape.

Apollo 13 where duct tape was used to adhoc a CO2 scrubber and save the life of the crew.

Apollo 17 where it was used to fix a critical fender / dust guard of the moon rover.

So, next time you walk by the rolls of duct tape in the home improvement store please salute :-)

In the ocean there's a family of bacteria called the Pelagibacterales. They are the most populous organism on the planet as there are an estimated 2E28 cells in the ocean.

That's
20000000000000000000000000000 bacterial cells.

They are around 0.5 micrometers long so you would need 2000 stretched end to end to reach 1mm

Yet if you stacked them all end to end they would stretch 1,000,000 light years or 5x the length of the milky way galaxy.

Oh and if you need miles it's 6.2E18 miles
6200000000000000000 miles

Catfish (Siluriformes) is the largest order of fish in the world and if you counted every species of fish in existence 1 in every 4 of them would have to be catfish! There are so many that they had to just start giving some of them numbers until they can be scientifically described.

If you drink more than 4 litres of water in rapid succession you'll dilute your blood to the point where you should die.

I feel like this is common knowledge now but the area immediately around a lighting bolt averages around 5 times hotter than the surface of the sun.

All brands of sunglasses are owned by one company.

This is all very interesting!
Finally recording the vast knowledge of r2r lol!!
Keep em coming should be a slow day again today due to the long weekend here in Canada!
Also happy long weekend Friday to my Canadians!(and anyone else if it's long weekend for you too!)

Installing 5G antennas and radios on a cell tower is much easier than any previous PCS technology, as it is just a single all-in-one unit. Everything else requires radios, frequency splitters, and antennas all being wired up sequentially. Not to mention the cash flow in that business is ridiculous. Every cell tower you see (that has at least one antenna set) is worth half a million dollars of work. Also, cell companies like verizon and ATT pay leasing spots on towers, therefore whoever has their antennas on the top of the tower pays more than the company owning the antennas down below.

All female honey bees in a hive are generically identical. If the hive needs a new queen, they build a bigger cell around the egg and pack it full of royal jelly.

If a female bee only eats royal jelly then it transforms into a queen!

Also, queen bees only mate once, they store the sperm inside their bodies and use it for years.

Well I guess I should add to this since I started it.... Here's some Almost useful information somebody might find interesting...
The Toyota car Corp actually started by making automatic looms.... Before this they were threading by hand...
Also some earlier Chevy novas actually had Toyota powertrains!

Wait... peanuts are not nuts?
As some one who grew up in south Georgia where a lot of peanuts are grown (and where you fine boil peanuts in every convenience store) I like to tell people here in Oregon how beautiful the peanut tree is. :p
