I was researching how to eliminate CO2 from a room where its hard to open a window or highly Co2 neigboring areas. Came cross couple of plants that does just exactly converts CO2 into oxygen at night, i thought this would help with PH levels as well as overall quality and purifies the air naturally.

So I bought a plant called Mother IN-Laws Tounge Lmfaoooo, and place one on each side of my tank, and i tell you I can see/feel a difference in air purification.

I wonder if the snake plant will get enough light from refugium? Even if this doesn’t help anything it’s still a cool plant.

That article says 6-8 plants per person but one will help. It’s just me and wife and we work a lot. I don’t have a pH problem but we went flower shopping today for the patio and the had this plant. Kind of a impulse buy.

6 plants for per person. But still it wont hurt

Is it just lower co2 that makes my tank happier in the spring and summer or is there something else growing plants release?

I have literally hundreds of those in my yard. The cool thing with that plant and many other tropicals is that you can propagate them. A leaf will easily separate from the bunch and will regrow additional plants. We got our initially from a neighbor trimming down theirs So you can easily increase your numbers.

Ph is now 8.4 from 8.2 not kidding, so i am thinking it has a positive role of exchanging Co2 to oxygen at night.

Although the premise is true it would take a ton of plants to negate the relatively high amount of co2 we actually put out. Not to mention plants exhale that co2 back into the air at some point or another as only a small percentage is used for growth.
