Interesting media combined with elements

Interesting concept but I can see some disadvantages in the laced ones. In theory, both GFO and Sulfur laced ones will get saturated/consumed and will have to be replaced in order to maintain their extra properties.
One it is saturated, the media will most likely work just as any other surface media, which might not justify the extra price(I am assuming they are more expensive than other surface media counterparts)
So, it sounds counter productive to replace the surface media just because GFO got saturated, as it would force bacteria to recolonise the new media. I would rather keep the media untouched and replace GFO or Sulfur separately...

I was wondering that.. It's like the GFO infused biopellets. As the bp is consumed isn't that just releasing GFO into the system?
Rate of renewal seems like a big negative to me.
