I feed my tank some mysis shrimp this evening and one big piece happens to fall on this coral. Now two coral appendages are fighting over it, each of it with a piece in their mouth and a pod in the middle, lol. I just wanted to share the cool experience.

I see blastos. I love.

They are pretty awesome! This one is a pleasure to watch. I also learned today (and I didn't even google it) they actually eat and poo with the same organ (mouth), just some "Paul Blart" fun facts for ya.

I did have a question though. When I fed the shrimp they are white. Why do they turn a bright pink when being consumed? It seems like some strange chemistry going on.

The shrimp turn pink?? Not sure I have noticed that with any of my corals feeding. Maybe the insides of the shrimp are exploding haha

I know it's so strange. I thought that maybe the natural pigment of the shrimp was being released somehow.
