Interesting tank decorations

Hello all,

I was curious if you ever added anything extra or unusual to your aquascape? On a trip to the beach I found a fossilized sea biscuit. Although extremely extremely old, it isn't worth much. So I glued it to one of my live rocks to enjoy this ancient piece.

Very cool! Giving a bump as I do not have anything unusual in mine. I think @Paul B has a bottle in his tank.

Along with some beer cans, other broken bottles, Hope's and dreams..

Actually I have 9 of them, But you would have to look very hard to find more than 3 or 4

I found all the stuff in the ocean, so I guess so.

Some of them like this one, I "built" to look like it fell off Columbus boat.

Described above it doesn't sound as good as it looks. It fits the aquascape very well. I'm impressed. Love the goby pic!

Cool stuff! Following along. I've wanted to add some unusual stuff to my reef, but I'm not sure if I'd like it in the end. I like Paul B's bottle idea a lot...might do that (he's got an article HERE on how to do it).

I made these Jack Daniel bottles after seeing the bottles in @Paul B tank. They've encrusted really well and blend into the tank fairly well.

it might be kitschy, but i have long wanted a pirate treasure chest (sunk in the sand and half-covered with seaweed or rock). the trouble might be finding coins that are inert in saltwater (i'm not sure if even gold is fully inert).

Gold is inert. If you like, send me any gold coins you have and I will send you an equal weight of plastic, fully inert coins.

hehe, there's a couple of places selling pure gold replicas of POTC aztec gold coins ... i'm even toying with the idea of eventually buying a half-dozen or so.

a full laminate canopy rests on my 180G 6-ft tank ... reserved for a 36"-48" scale model of the Black Pearl if i every find an appealing model.
