Internal flow rate for a 150 gallon mixed reef.

So I have been doing some research looking for a good pump to go with four sea swirls. This is going to be a closed load with a sea swirls in each corner. I found a reeflo dart hybrid that pushes 3000 gph @ 4'. It only uses 145 watts. That's 750 gph out each sea swirl. I think with that kind of flow I wouldn't need power heads. If this is to much flow please let me know. This is a 6' tank. It will be very chaotic flow.

I am not sure if you will need anymore flow or not. So you'll have 4 returns from the pump?

IU have that pump..switch to the snapper impeller. Unless you use a manifold and have some serious things running it will probably be just a little too much flow and make your overflows very noisy. Now splitting off to feed extra tubes may work out OK, but you will still need to dial it down a little bit.

Also keep in mind that unless you are going with 1-1/2" or 2" bulkheads for your overflows, your tank probably has around a 1500gph overflow setup with two 1" bulkheads. Keep that in mind.

This is a closed loop so water will be pulled from the display and split to 4 sea swirls. I will have a small pump for the sump return and it will be around 500 gph. If it is to much I can throttle it back. I looked at a iwaki and just didn't look like it would be enough.
