Internal Overflow without drilling and without Siphon?

You still need to drill the tank for this overflow. The 'inside' box has two bulkheads that connect to the 'outside' box. Two holes need to be drilled to make this happen.

It says about drilling in the item description.

I have one but I haven't installed it yet so can't speak for how well it works, but I've heard good things.

What makes it different from just regular overflow?
 
No siphon.
Water goes into the hole drilled into the tank where it enters the overflow. From there it flows down to the sump.
