I am new to the hobby and just started my first quarantine. I started a pair of clownfish with a 7 day treatment of paraguard and am now in the fourth day of cupramine. Three days ago, I saw a white stringy poop that might indicate intestinal worms or parasites. But I have not seen any white poop for the last two days. My question is: Does this condition sometimes resolve on its own or do I have a definate disease going on. What is the best course of action? I hate to have to remove that copper and then go on to a third medication of metro/focus or general cure. Advice?

Are you sure the poop was white? Brown stringy poop can be just an irritation. If it was for sure white I would soak the food with meds and feed for 14 days.

This can be done during copper with no issue. I do this prophylactically on every batch of fish during copper.

What do you use/ general cure? Metroplex?

Thanks! One last question, I read somewhere that you should use focus as a binding agent with metro or general cure. Is that the generally accepted method?
Yes, it localizes/holds the meds in the food so that it can be consumed and not leach out in to the water column.
