Internal vs External Overflow

Internal vs External overflow :
Specifically, see attached pics
(from Planet Aquarium).

Thoughts? Pros / Cons? Opinions please?

External gives you more space inside the tank for rock work and fish etc, but needs a little space behind the tank from the wall. An internal overflow tank can go right against the wall.
Other than that they basically do the same thing.
 
One on the left is usually called reef-ready and has bottom drilled. 2 holes, one drain and one return, durso for the drain and whatever pump you have for the return. Can be hard to dial in and louder.

One on the right these days usually has 2-3 holes drilled in the back of tank that lets water get into the external overflow box. Overflow box has usually 3 holes for drains, which allow you to setup Beananimal system (primary, secondary and emergency). Water is returned via return pipes that are run over the tank or back is drilled on both sides. Much easier to dial in than durso, and lot quieter. Gives you more surface skimming than RR tanks, but requires you to setup proper return from the sump.
