Ok, so this is the third time I'm going to be trying to resolve this issue. First time I used focus and metro and did it for about a week. People said the duration might have been too short and to try focus and general cure as it's a broader spectrum medicine. So I did. I medicated frozen mysis and blood worms by mixing the focus and general cure in water and thawing out the mysis and blood worms. They for 20 days, one feeding a day.

About 2 weeks into the treatment I thought I was making headway. The fish were pooping more of a chunky Brown poop instead of the stringy white worm looking poop. I finished the treatment. Now though I'm seeing the T'ang starting to exhibit Some of that stringy poop.

I'm thinking I may have diluted the medication in water too much? Most of the mixture was still on the bottom of the cup after soaking the food for a couple hours, even over night. My thinking was that the medication would still dilute in the water and the dilution would be absorbed into the food .

Should I just be thawing out the frozen food without as little water as possible and then just mix the medication into that making a kind of slurry?

I've also made my own DIY fish food before kind of like Larry's. What if I make my own fish food and just makes the general cure and focus into that? And then freeze it.

You shouldn't use any water. It will dilute the meds.

You actually want to thaw and strain the food before adding the GC and focus.
Ok. That's what I was starting to think now that I've had no luck twice.

So basically thaw and strain the food, then sprinkle the meds on and let it sit like that for atleast 30 mins is what I'm starting to gather?

Yep, I like to mix the meds in and then let it sit so that it is more evenly distributed. I’ll also add a drop or two of vita-chem to the mix for good measure but that’s not necessary.

Yes stir the meds in well and let it soak for 30 min or better.

As @ngoodermuth mentioned I use selcon/vitachem as well as a touch of garlic guard to help mask the med taste.

Great. Keep the tips and experiences coming guys. So the consensus is to add the meds to already thawed and rinsed food. NOT what I was doing which was adding the meds to about 3 tablespoons of water and then adding the food to that and then straining it. Dang it. I just wasted like $60 worth of meds and almost 2 months. Grrr.

If these persist after another treatment you could also dose your food in the same manner with fenbendazole. Fenbendazole is also used to eradicate Prazi resistant flukes, etc.

I'm hoping this next treatment will work. Like I said before. Around the 2 week mark I remember seeing the feces more chunky, brown, solid. Was not dust particle like, like it's supposed to look. But was not the stringy stuff either. So I feel like the meds were starting to work but they were not potent enough due to the way I was diluting it. I will look into the fenbendazole as well though. Any particular brands?

Agree. I add selcon, zoe/zoecon, and or vitachem to make the food a bit more liquid. But I agree the water is diluting which is leading to less therapeutic medication in their gut.

Sometimes these parasites are stubborn, it may take up to 21 days to rid them. Keep fighting the good fight, friend!

I’ve used Thomas Labs brand and purchased on Amazon

I have been experiencing the same thing with my current fish in qt. been feeding a little over 4 weeks with GC+focus (2-3 times a day) and still seeing long white/brown stringy poop. usually that takes care of it within 2 weeks but not this time. Just ordered fenbendazole the other day as @Frtdrmrose7 suggested and hopefully that will knock it out.
