So I have my old QT tank that is a 15G Fluval flex. I was going to sell it but thought for the money I will get I would rather just turn it into a neat tank. I first thought of getting a pair of longfin clowns because I love clownfish and have never had a longfin but then thought it would be cool to have a very different fish in there but need some ideas. Something that isn’t too difficult to take care of since I want this to be a simple tank to run. Don’t think I will be putting coral into the tank so reef safe doesn’t matter. Any help is appreciated!

I mean instead of the clowns
Sorry, I misunderstood. Gobies could still be good - 3 or 4 masked gobies or other small varieties.

I have a 10 gallon with RFAs and sexy shrimp that are fun to watch.

I’ve never had a goby so I like that idea! Same with RFA never had one but always wanted to try them

I say;
Go for some softies in terms of coral (these are as simple as it gets and if you get the right ones you can make a beautiful display).
And to have the activity throughout the coral;
Clown Gobies!!! I have 3 in my 3’ tank and they’re each really colourful (In terms of colour, I have red, yellow and black).

Or if you aren’t a huge fan of Clown gobies then go for a Griessinger Goby. These guys will happily feed on pods throughout the day and create intricate caves with a lining of sand.

Or if you don’t like gobies, then go for a species of Wrasse from these genera;
Wetmorella
Pseudocheilinops
I prefer the Pseudocheilinops genus (it’s a one species genus). As they just look adorable with eyes too big for their head.

I think all fish look best with a backdrop of some easy beginner Softies and LPS (SPS just doesn’t cut it for me personally). I mean, here’s my main display tank - my nano is SPS heavy but I am introducing LPS to the mix.
Something like this with the fish above in would look nicer than a tank full of SPS and is a PITA to maintain.

Yes clown gobies! I completly forgot about them, another fish I have always wanted to try out. But you had to mention the wrasses I could get…. I have become obsessed with wrasses so they may take the crown. Amazing looking tank by the way!
