Howdy folks. Just ran into this forum and thought it might not be a bad idea to signup instead of just lurk. After all, they have a dedicated Chattanooga Reef Club, and what do you know.... I live in Chattanooga!

Anywho, I'm fairly new to reefing. My setup has been running for a little under a year now. I'm actually surprised in the luck I've had considering the size of the setup. I've learned a few things over the year, like anemone's can be a chore to keep alive sometimes, but I think I've gotten the hang of it and can't wait to upgrade in size. Anywho, I'll post my tank info below for those curious, and hopefully I can find out a bit more about these monthly meetings and stuff.

20G High tank
150W heater
2 Atman PH-1100 power heads (1380 l/h, roughly 360 G/h each)
1 Typhoon Protein Skimmer (up to 110 Gallons, one of the power heads run this)
20lbs of live sand
~18lbs of live rock
Coralife Aqualife Dual 24" (2x65W), 50/50 10000K Daylight/Actinic lamps

Critters:
Assortment of crabs and snails
2 peppermint shrimp
2 clowns
1 lawnmower blenny
green star polyps
kenya tree
xenia
some type of leather
bubble tip anemone
assort. mushrooms
assort. zoa's
button polyps

Hey welcome to the Chatt Reef Forum and to Club-Zoa!! Great to have you aboard! ;)

Bryan

:welcome:

Glad you decided to say hi! Welcome to the boards. Feel free to ask any questions you may have. As Bryan said we have a meeting every month (well try to anyway!). We will post info regaurding the meeting in this forum. They are open meetings to anyone - members & non-members. Hopefully you can come hang out with us sometime. And don't worry our meetings are very informal. We just hang out, eat a little food, maybe talk about some reef stuff and give each other a hard time!! We like to have fun and help each other out.

Sounds like your set up is going well - your right nems can sometimes be a little tricky - but once they get settled watch out they can really grow!!

look forward to seeling you round the boards and to meeting you!

Patrick

Welcome-always good to see more hobbyists! Hope to see you at a meeting sometime.

Excellent. So here are my first attempts at getting shots of my setup. It's not the prettiest out there, pumps showing etc, but it's mine and I love it.

I do need some help on ID's though. You might note that I never get too specific on some things because I'm not wholly sure. Mainly the mushrooms, and the leather (?).

Anywho, here goes nothing.
The whole shebang:

Mushrooms of some type? When I first got this rock, there was one large and 2 smaller mushrooms on it. Now it's totally covered and about 4 small ones have detached and found new homes in different places in the tank.

My unidentified leather (at least I think that's what it is). Kenya to left, and Xenia to right.

Green Star Polyps. Piece on the right is what I started with. The central/left piece is what it took over. It goes all the way down the back of that rock. This stuff grows like crazy!

Last but not least, the pink tip bubble (again, call me out if i'm wrong here).
