Introduce your self. :-)

It's going to be exciting when they're all fully open and enjoying their new home.
**** shrimp was checking them out too.
i gave him a little food before bed. Looked like he left them alone after that.

Frog still looks a little closed up. Still getting used to its new home it appears :)

Looks like someone opened up while I was at work. The frog still looks the same tho.

Looks nice. Give the FS some time to adjust to the lights and water.
Is your wife happy with the additions?

Hello everyone, Kenny from hershey PA here. Just got started in reef tanks in January. Currently have a 40 breeder with 20L sump. I'll try and get sum pics up soon. It's nice to find some local reef hobbyists.

Welcome Kenny! Look forward to seeing your build. There are a number of people around in the hobby. You should be able to find lots of support and a good assortment of frags to add to your display.

Hi.

I attached a pic of the red Monti.
Turning white....
All numbers are great.
Calcium is 410
Too high up, too close to light?

FS and SB are doing amazing!
Attached pics of them as well.

Thanks

What is your alk? I would think by now it would have adjusted to the light. If your alk is in the 8 - 11 range try moving it a little lower.

If really 2.9 that is a problem. (There are different test kits which use different measurements.) I am using good old API kits. You should be in the 8 to 11 range IMO using API or similar test kits.

Retested
Alk, 8.4

Just curious how are you getting such a specific ALK level using API test kit? When I test, fill the tube to 5 ml add drop, shake and another drop shake till water goes from blue to yellow. Number of drops equals the ALK.

In any case if your alk is in the 8 range guess that is not the issue. Based on your parameters, thinking a water change is not going to make much difference. Move it a little lower in your aquarium. Is the whole thing bleaching or just parts? From time to time mine will loose color in patches but it always comes back.
