Introducing fish into a 10 gal or less aquarium

Hello all, here’s the question, what’s the best way to introduce fish into a small aquarium I.e. Nuvo 10? It’s already a challenge to introduce corals, but when you have to float a fish in a tank that’s already full to within millimeters from the top, you can see my bewilderment. Wouldn’t drip acclimating take water out of the tank meaning you have to replace it changing parameters anyway? Is there a technique that gets around this or am I over analyzing this? Any advice is appreciated.

I would take 1/2 gallon of water out of your tank and store it in a container so you can put it back after the acclimation. With the water removed you’ll have room to float the fish. Then for the acclimation, start with as little water in the fish bag as possible (like 2 cups depending on fish size) so you can add smaller amounts of your tanks water. By doing this you can use as little water as 4-5 cups of water from your tank. You can then top that off at your next water change.
