Introducing live rock

Hey guys,
Recently acquired live rock from a friend whose tank has not been kept up to par the past few months. I’ve been letting them hangout in a dark bucket with a pump running for 2 weeks. There looks like there was some algae growth at when I initially pick them up, but I haven’t seen any new growth and I’ve been changing out the water weekly when I do my display tank water changes. Do you think they’re OK to introduce him to my display tank thanks in advance.
