OK y'all I've been reading several post on this method and found a small 800gph airpump from my freshwater to try out with. Question is this to little bubble count?

I'm toying with it right now during the daytime while I'm home and I'll start running it at night around 4hrs. any input on this?

Why bubbles?

It's pulled some of my hair algae up, killed it off. Don't know if it's the bubbles lifting the algae up or the bubbles forming around the algae smothering it off. I try to use mine after late night feeding time and it picks up all the extra food my fish leave behind. Sometimes they eat it. Sometimes it goes threw the overflow. I've read that a little peroxide will help with cyano. I'm about to start trying it out when I get back home sunday and see if it clears up anymore. And honestly on the salt creep I don't see any extra building up compared to before I was doing the bubbles

It won't hurt your livestock if done correctly. Look up the thread peroxide vs cyano by Twilliard. He is an active member on this site and has been doing testing and research on the topic. If you have any specific questions I'm sure he'd be more than happy to answer them.

Suck out the thick cyano mats as much as possible... the h2o2 and aeration will take care of the rest.

I haven't been running a set schedule but more of around 4-6hrs per day depending on when I think of it. But the red hair algae I had on the sand bed isn't as bad, most of the smaller patches on my rocks have died off, turned brownish Instead of red
