Introducing my home 17k gallon reef

2nd dose of prazi is in after 3500 gallon water change and over last 48 hrs we have brought the chloroquine phosphate level to over 1 kilo. Or 15 mg per liter. All fish besides my scribbled angel look better. More relaxed and are scratching way less and there is little heniochus cleaning going on. Why my scribbled angel stopped eating is a mystery. Either he got hit late with the bug or its a reaction to the meds. Im going on vacation today so tank is in the hands of yalcin and ken. I will miss my puppies the most !!

Btw this cp dosing is little bit of guesswork. Making sure your at therapeutic levels while you know there is bio degradation going on from rock and biofilter. I think our plan is to keep dosing 3 to 5 per a day for a bit. Some of the half life curves suggest half can degrade over 30 days if let be and thats in sterile tank but i must admit this feels a bit flying blind. There is a lab in my area we going to see if they can do uv spectrometer test.

Well today mr scribble is way better. Yesterday in rocks and hiding.

Happy holidays drew and hope you get your amazing tank remedied of it's issue.

Cp is amazing stuff. It's the only thing that I've seen first hand that worked after an outbreak where everything recovered and stayed alive. Best of luck

Just read a 66 page old thread on reef central and man lots of people have bad experiences. There seems to be a half life issue and really needs to be added all time or certain fish just flake in it. We worked our way to 60 mg per gallon and we are dosing about 5 to 10 per more each day. But now im even thinking thats not enough.

I had some issues with it first time around until I randomly decided to dip my hanna salinity pen into a tank with a full dose of cp and it read 1.035-6. I have a feeling that might be the issue with fish that are sensitive to it. Cp after all is a salt. I now drop the salinity down to 1.018-20 before dosing cp and everything comes out fine.

my salinity hasnt budged at just under 35ppt. But we go up 70 grams a day with a base dose near a kilo.
