Introducing my home 17k gallon reef

Definitely following this. I just found this thread and this has generated so many questions. I cannot even ask them because I'm still in shock. Give me a week to gather my thoughts. Thank you for sharing. I can only dream of seeing this tank in person one day. As a reefer I know we are never really satisfied with our tanks. I hope you are as close to 100% satisfied as you can be.

How about these in the tank, I think they will enhance the color of your wife's eyes.

Andrew about time you got in here. LoL i cant wait to see this with my own eyes.

Totally understand - I guess a huge school of angels is also out of some of our reach until we can get larger systems. My dream fish (barring all logistics) would be a sunfish . It is also on my bucketlist to go to the georgia aquarium and see manta rays in an aquarium.

so I have to ask - what is your dream fish ? do you have a favourite or do you already own it?

The GA Aquarium is awesome! My parents were founders, plaque on the wall and everything. My favorites there are the Beluga Whales and the Whale sharks. We know lots of Marine Biologists that work there so hear a lot of cool stories. Save your pennies and get a "behind the scenes" tour if they still do those. So cool how they take care of everything. Plus you get to stand up top beside the Huge tank with the Whale Sharks and look down on it. Amazing! One thing a lot of people probably don't know...there is a separate, and Very secret, location where they take the larger sick animals.

Amazing setup, sending friend request just to be able to follow this tank easier. Name is justin walling

Thankyou. But it must be my perfectionist personality. Never 100 per !!

I love them but i wont mix oceans !! Atlantic would be a different display
Thank you for sharing your amazing tanks!
Is there a reason you don’t mix oceans or just a personal rule? I have not heard that before and would be interested in your reasoning for instance is it better for the health of the fish or to prevent aggression? Thank you.

Lol. No its my pet peeve !!!

I wont even put Japanese reef fish like wrought irons with hawaii deep water tank. And they are close. Lol. At least in pearl harbor
I like it, organized methodology! It makes the tanks very interesting and more realistic! I want a tank with only blue and yellow fish! I thought we were crazy having three tanks on the first floor and sumps in the basement! By the way, I would trade the beach house and Porsche collection for your tank, if I had either! Have you met the guy from Wisconsin that builds yanks like yours? Thanks for all the sharing you’ve done!

Oh my goodness.... I'm not sure what you do for a living but I would gladly take an apprenticeship when a spot opens! Kidding not kidding lol
