Hello, My name is Ricky and this is my tank. The build to date is exactly 1 year old. All of the corals were started from frags and I am a huge fan of tangs. here are some pics as of recently.

Yeah I had a build thread on the other site. Had a couple of friends recomend this site and so far I really like it.

As far as equipment, I kept it really simple. I hear to many horror storys about the amounts of money that people spend on there power bill because of their tank and I really wanted to stay away from that. I have an 80 gallon sump/fuge (2-40gallon breeders). Not sure what the return pumps are but nothing great. I used to run a hammerhead return but it was pushing a constant 400+watts of power. I decided instead to go with tunze powerheads (2-6201's and 4-6101's) on a 7095 controller. Im running a medium atb skimmer with the upgraded airstar pump (another huge energy saver). No calcium reactor as of yet but looking to get the geo 818. With the depth of the tank I did decide to use 3-400 watt mh, and 8-4ft t-5 actinics. Like I said I built this tank with the power bill in mind. I spend on average 150.00 for my entire house including the tank. I will post some pics of everything else soon.

u serious $150 a month on electricity??

lol we spent at least $250 here in tx on a 1 story house during the summer.

Yep. I had a 300 gallon tank that was set up for me a few years back (in the same house) and my bill was closer to 400.00 per month. My house is only around 1600 sq feet but, I think that is pretty good considering that I went from a 300 gallon to a 450.
