I have a 3.75" hippo tang and a 3.5" purple tang... I just picked up a 2.75" powder blue tang. It's in QT right now.. I read these guys are very aggressive to other tangs so made sure to get him last, and also picked up a smaller one.

I should be good? will introduce him in about 3 weeks.

Sounds like you're on the right track there ... A social acclimation box would probably be a very good idea, as might a mirror at one end of the tank during introductions.

I would say you should be fine. Attempting to add another tang down the road will probably cause mega problems so stick to your original plan of making it your last. The hippo probably won't care about the PBT and the purple will quickly get over any issues he may have.

You should be ok as they're all different genus'. I've been stocking tangs for years and have some basic guidelines I use which have never gone wrong for me...

Only stock one of each genus, the exception is multiple yellows (5 plus only) or multiple regals (5 plus only).

Nasos don't count...

And you can stock orange shoulders with anything as they're really chilled out but big enough not to be picked on.

Stock most aggressive last. (You may struggle here as your purple is likely the most aggressive).

In my DT I have a yellow, regal, powder blue, orange shoulder and vlamingi. All get on fine.
