Introducing Tangs

So went to buy a yellow tang and the guy was moving and said the buyer for his blue hippo tang had backed out and I could have it. They have been together for two years. How should I introduce I don't have a qt tank.

What size is your tank?

What other fish are in the tank currently?

120 gallon 2 clowns fire fish, anthias, small goby, 2 damsels I will be removing.

I am a major supporter of a disease free display tank and proper QT of all fish/corals/inverts. If you haven't QT'd any of your fish and don't plan to then about your only option is to put the fish in.

I would have a QT ready. If your tank has ich you will know quickly more than likely with the hippo.

Acclimation/isolation tanks work wonders for minimizing the hostilities to new additions. I find 3 days usually does the trick.
