Hello my name is Jeremy, live in corpus christi just moved down here from tulsa. I don't currently have a tank, but I used to run a 75 gallon fish fowlr.

I'm looking to get back into the hobby and wanted to put together a mixed reef. Will feature a trio of Hawaiian flame wrasse , that's about it for my fish list at the moment, probably run the standard additions , clowns, tangs etc.

I always said if I ever get back into the hobby I was going to do it right so I'm currently shopping for a 200 to 300 gallon acrylic main display. Technology has changed alot in 10 years so still researching over flows, skimmers. Bio filtration , led vs t5/mh lights.

I know I want a deep display , im thinking a 6ft by 3 foot foot print.

Was actually getting in the forums today to do a humidity search and see if 300 gallons was to much for a 1700 square foot house.

House is still being built and the absolute last thing I want is humidity and mold problems.

I don't have room for a dedicated fish room sadly so will be a tradition in cabinet under tank sump.

I can't wait to see what tank you decide to put in your house! The reefing hobby changes fast, especially in 10 years!

Greetings and Welcome. To your concern about humidity, you can always buy a good quality portable Dehumidifier. They work well. We even use ours in the kitchen when Daughter makes fudge. It can't be too humid if you make that stuff. Probably news to you. I know it was for me!!!!

Hi Jeremy! I’m in Corpus Christi also! I currently have 5 tanks in the house and I have a dehumidifier running all the time and just empty the water when it fills up

Hello Jeremy and Welcome to R2R! I have my HVAC system always running which I believe does help control the humidity in the house. I have a 180g with a canopy that is closed. They system does have to have water added and having an ATO is awesome. I have not noticed mold in the house.
