Hi All,

Well, after finding myself back here on many occasions reading threads, I finally got set up here so I can post. I've stopped by here often to peruse the board, and I'm looking forward to benefitting from the collective knowledge of the other members here.

I'm a current member of the MAS(freshwater group), and I'd love to join the Marine group, but my time-management doesn't allow me to pick up any more extra-curricular activities. I've got two young kids that eat up most of my free time, and they come first. I've been keeping aquariums for about 18 years, and keeping a reef tank for the last 8. Right now I have a 75 reef, a 30 breeder frag tank, and soon to have my 310g beast set up as my main reef, alongside 50ish freshwater aquariums from 5 to 150 gallons.

I also resumed working part-time for my buddy at his pet shop in Roseville, so I'm having fun being back into that. Below are a few pics of my fishroom and corals and such. Hope you enjoy, and I look forward to getting to know folks on the board.

Regards, Zack

A few snapshots of my fishroom (and my 4yr old boy, Sebastian):

Here are some pics of my favorite corals 'n' stuff. I'll skip the freshwater because they're too numerous and, well, freshwater. I'm sort of a mushroom and monti junkie, but like variety, and lately I've started to get into zoas, so now I'm collecting stuff that catches my fancy.

I'm tired of typing, so I'll stop there.

I was that way for a long time. Then so was Eric Borneman. Then so was his friend Mikhael Matz. It is singular, and I love it!

Hi. Welcome to r2r! That is one really nice fish room youve got there :) Youve got some really nice pieces also....
cant wait to see that "beast" get setup. make sure you keep us updated with some pics. WE LOVE PICS.

Great fish room....That mushroom is amazing that is on par with any coral out there I don't care what type either.....Have you ever had babies from it or don't it spread like other discsoma sp...?

I actually have a baby sprouting of its foot right now. It has sprouted perhaps 3 babies before. Eric B. told me he would guess Discosoma genus, but couldn't put it more specifically than that. I agree with your sentiments. I paid a hefty price to own this one, but to be honest, it was well worth it. There is likely no other in captivity like it, and it is stunning.

To be honest, I had originally thought about practicing my propagation techniques on it, but I haven't had the heart and so I've left it to naturally propagate. I couldn't bear the thought of damaging it or losing it because of eagerness to have more in my tank.

I can imagine....I collect Ricordea of both types myself and find it funny how the more expensive ones which tend to be the most colorful and rare are the absolutely slowest reproducers....While the drab stuff or "typical" mushrooms grow so fast you can't stop them.....Glad to see something like that in the hands of a reefer and not in a retail shop...Although there needs to be more of those around. ;)

Hey man,
that clam and mushie are intense. I am new to montis, any advice you can give me. The only two I have are a half bleached sunset rainbow from UWW and I just got a jedi mindtrick
