Welcome to reef2reef. No wonder you hate water changes. That's a lot of water to changeI’m new to this thread but not the hobby. I’ve had reef tanks for the past 15 years and have various corals and fish, octopus, stingrays and sharks. I hate water changes so I don’t do them unless I have to. Currently I have 9 tanks up and running 120gal, 90galx2, 55galx3, 1gal nano 50gal cube(quarantine tank) and a 30 gal hex.
Yeah it is a lot. But the way I run most of my tanks macro algae in the fuge keeps the No3 and Po4 down so mostly all I have to do is add top off RO water and dose two 2 with some trace elements. Basically I’ve been doing the triton method before triton coin the term. I’m a firm believer that everything your tank should have a purpose and your tank should be a self contained ecosystem. With a few exceptions like that really cool fish that you just have to have. I have yet found a way to be able to run this method with an octopus tank or stingray tank. But I’m working on it.Welcome to reef2reef. No wonder you hate water changes. That's a lot of water to change
