Hi Everyone. By way introduction, I've been in this awesome hobby first as a kid and then about 15 years ago I started up again with an AIO. For the past 3 years I've been running a 60g cube as mixed reef with a 30g basement sump and a fairly high tech setup but I know that many you surely surpass me.

Now for my problems. Let me first say that this is a who I am post and I'm not looking for help right now. When I will ask for help, I know to give far more detail. Anyway, the tank was running really well for well over a year with just a diy algae scrubber. I didn't need to do many water changes and the tank pretty much ran itself. Suddenly about 6 month ago the algae scrubber stopped working, no idea why. I think the algae scrubber made me into a really lazy reefer because I then let the tank go. For the past year or so I hadn't dealt with reactors or frequent water changes, just regularly harvesting hair algae. Perhaps I should have posted for help then! That combined with a 2-day power loss while I was away made the tank go downhill. I'm actually amazed by how well the tank did despite the neglect. I lost a copper banded (power outage) and a pygmy angel but my to tomini tang, ornate leopard wrasse, clowns, blue accessor, rbta, derasa clam, banded coral shrimp plus many corals all survived.

I'm now working the tank back into shape and my biggest problem is combating algae. I need to build back up my cuc. I've gone back to traditional tank maintenance methods. My algae scrubber is gone and I have no plan to grow chaeto. I'm back to skimming 24/7 and I'm running Rox carbon and gfo. I'm considering the zeovit system but I want to recover the tank first.

Well, that's where I am! Looking forward to being part of the community.
