It’s been about ten years and I’m back in the game . I started up a 75 gallon reef about 6 weeks ago. I am currently starting to see diatoms, I know this is part of the process. I need to limit light usage and go light with feedings. It can be difficult to purchase the necessary cleaners during COVID. I do not prefer to purchase online but may have to. I am excited to join this forum and look forward to troubling shooting.

Welcome welcome welcome!

With the diatoms I wouldn't worry about controlling your light. You want them to grow and then be removed as soon as possible. The way this is thought to happen is they use up the limited supply of silicates in your tank. As long as you use RO water they shouldn't come back after this bloom

hi welcome to the reef going to love it here!!
lots of fun/info/fun/help/fun....
