Hi,
I was wondering if anybody knows what kind of sponge this is? Its white and stringy. I was removing it by hand easily but now its growing on zoas and killing a very large gsp in just 2 days. I was wondering if anybody knows what kind of sponge this is or any other useful information on how to get rid of it.. It started growing on the undersides of the live rock but now its just taking over. I attached a few pics some of them are kind of blurry. Thanks for your help.

anybody anybody,Is this a new sponge no one has ever seen b4?????

Looks like a Pineapple sponge (but lots of sponges look like that). I have a few of them in my tank, but they don't bother anything.

I have the same sponge in my DT and sump. It is a pineapple sponge. From what I've read it's supposed to be beneficial.

I have this sponge too. NOT a pineapple. Very invasive and I have not found the cure yet.
Did you ever find a cure? I had one growing in my skimmer. Just drained the sump and cleaned the skimmer. I did have lots of little pineapple sponges and the big one in the skimmer. Haven’t noticed any in the DT fortunately.

Pineapple sponge looks like a pineapple, I don’t know why anyone would think it is pineapple sponge
Up your filtration with filter socks changed every three days and use activated charcoal to reduce organic in water

How is this a pineapple sponge? It isn’t a pineapple sponge. I have it in my tank I am going to remove it soon but I think it is some sort of branching sponge.
