so i got ich in my system from the last batch of snails. i qt'd all my fish before putting them in the display and about 5 days after the last batch of snails boom, black ich pops up on 2 of my fish then the next day white ich on 2 others....this is annoying AF but i can't complain, it was a risk i was willing to take and it bit me in the butt.
soooo while im treating my fish in a separate qt im going to chuck a bunch of snails in the DT and basically qt them in the display while its fallow and any additional snails are gonna get QTd. I tried to qt snails before and like 75% of them died within 2 weeks so i gave up.
what's everyone elces survival rate of snails and qt..?
i have a 10g tank with sand, heater, hob and a tiny power head filter thing. i guess i should throw a couple rocks in there also and get it cycled and let the algae build up so the snails have something to eat other than just nori. im thinking just qt like 40-50 snails at a time and hope 75% of them live through the qt so i would have 30ish new snails every 3 months to replenish the ones that died in the display.
anyone have any tips or tricks on their invert qt process..?
thanks

I have QTd inverts in Rubbermaid bins before. With no filtration. You do need to have something to house a biofilter though. LR or some sort of foam media.
