I'm currently in the process of cleaning and rebooting a tank that suffered a power outage about a year ago, killing 90%+ of my fish and corals.

I want to make sure this time around I do a great job of selecting not only fish who will get along together, but will also not eat my inverts. ( cleaner shrimp, snails, hermits) Also, would potentially like more inverts, outside of just CUC

In terms of fish selection, I have an Innovative marine 75Ext tank. The only fish that I absolutely want to ensure I'm able to have is a mandarin dragonet once I get refugium and pods going. Other than that, I just want to ensure that they get along nicely. I love gobies, firefish, hawkfish, blennies, rabbitfish, tangs, etc, but am open to any and all selections.

Ideally, I'd like to refrain from having to put a lid on the tank as well for asthetic reasons, but I'm not opposed to it either.

Hawkish is iffy with some inverts and other fish.. if you did a tang a smaller one like a bristle tooth would be fine in a tank that size. Gonna need a lid with fire fish or gobies, wrasses etc..

I was hoping I wouldn’t with gobies or fire fish. I did lose one to jumping out of the tank but my long nose hawk fish was an ******* and chased him around until he did. I haven’t seen many saltwater tanks with lids, are there some good ones that are highly recommended that don’t make the tank ugly or reduce light to corals much?

Plenty! Kraken lids, top lids etc… or diy one if you’re handy.

I'd love to do more diy, but time is a much more precious commodity than $ for me in terms of maintenance and building, so I'm going to check out these brands. Thank you for the recommendations!
