It seems like i am constantly chasing my hermit crabs and cleaner shrimp away from my LPS Corals when i feed them, and i often see my Hermits sitting on my LPS Corals picking away(although it looks like maybe they are just picking algae off the edges?)

Is it worth it to have hermits and shrimp in a tank that you want to be predominately LPS? I do have some LPS that are struggling and it is infuriating when they rip food out. My cleaner shrimp especially is a terror... he steals food from fish and coral constantly.

Curious as to what you guys think.

I have a Duncan, Acan, Lobo, Torch, hammer head, and candy canes with multiple hermits, two wrasse, and a coral banded shrimp and the only time I’ve noticed is when I feed reefroids they tend to nip at the free floating food. Everything is very happy still, so it’s worth it for me. I love my LPS babies.

Edit: Here’s my Lobo at lunchtime.

If you are afraid of the hermits, trade them all in for snails.
