6wks into new red sea 170 max 45 gal mixed reef with caribsea liferock and live sand
going really well, cycled without a problem and fish have been in for several wks and doing great.

Taking this slow and steady, and looking ahead to add corals.
I havent turned on my LED light let

questions:

should I start adding inverts when I start seeing algae? looking to get emerald crab, and snails

when should I add corals - 3-4month mark? Read that some ppl wait to see coraline growth - what about adding ARC purple/pink coraline spores?
I assume I should turn on my light once I add first corals, and not before?
thx

I would add snails and easy corals when the light is turned on. Good luck.

What is the light, can you tell us salinity, temp., nitrates and phosphates please?
You could turn the light on and open a whole can of worms if the last two are high but you need light to grow algae.

AI 90 LED
35ppm, 78, nitrates 5-10
phos checker ordered :)

didnt BRS post a new tank cycle where they kept the lights off for 4 months?

When you turn your lights on, algae starts. So add CUC when the lights kick on.
