Trying to adjust my Iodine levels currently at 60 µg to around 120.
I'm using an Iodine solution that has
iodine 1150ppm
Potassium 680 ppm
Bromine 670

just wanted to cross check how much I should add to get the Iodine level up to 120 and how much this will rise my potassium and Br levels. Total system volume is around 3000 litres or 800G. my current levels of Potassium and Br are
Br 60 mg/L
K 357mg/L

as per my calculation I have to add 156 ml which will add only 0.35 ppm to my Potassium???

any idea what ratio of Potassium and Iodine are in Lugo solution and if I'm to use lugol instead how much to add to correct up to normal levels of potassium and Iodine?

Thanks for your help.

The rise in K and Br in such a product (as in Lugols) is trivially small since normal levels of iodine (0.06 ppm) are so very, very low compared to normal K (400 ppm) and Br (67 ppm) levels.

You are aiming for well iodide above NSW levels. Is that intentional?

The 156 mL is correct.

FWIW, I'm not sure how you even got K to boost as high as 0.36 ppm. If you are boosting K and I with a product that has more I than K, and I is going up 0.06 ppm, K must go up less than that. :)

Hey don’t want to thread jack but I don’t know how forums work 100% yet. Can you look at a thread I started named “another algae thread” I need some advice and think I might have posted in the wrong section.

OK now that I proved my chemistry and calculation skills :)
My I level is 13 and need to boost up to 60 so guess 122ml.
For the other calculation I guess I mixed up micro and mG so might be 0.00036 microgram. I'll just use potassium and bromide additives to go up to level and then either stick with those or switch to lugol for potassium and iodine.
Thanks for the help.

I see you are getting good advice there. [emoji3]
