Iodine dosing?

I was wondering if iodine dosing is necessary? If i want to have a cleaner shrimp? And my mushrooms as well? Whats the thoughts on iodine

I dose it everyday per reef moonshiners guideline.

I was dropping 2 drops of lugols into 150 total volume system and my zoas and softies went insane for it, but so did the algae so I stopped.

It seems to be a myth that supplemental iodine is needed for shrimp.

I’m also skeptical on its utility for corals, but many folks believe it helps theirs.

If your doing regular weekly or even biweekly water changes it's not necessary. I would suggest keeping it in your arsenal as it comes in handy.
