Hey @Randy Holmes-Farley,
I know you don't feel the need to dose iodine. But you seem willing to answer a lot of questions on things you don't do so I'll ask.
I am dosing iodine based on recommendations from triton (using their product) but I've never been one to dose a mL at a time so I'm doing 8 mL a week. This is undesirable becacause as with anything else with a water perameter stablility is king.
I top off a reliable amount per week and am wondering if I can add it to that container without it decomposing into something unusable/undesirable. I can only guess what form of iodine is present in their product (if you can give insight their great) so if you can provide an in general answer that works for me.

I started thinking of the same but then started tracking my top of volumes and one week I average 1g a day top off and the next week 1.5g a day just based on overall humidity so I figured that was less accurate way but interested in the answer

Thats not a bad idea. My worry is dosing too much because evaporation is inconsistant. I guess you could put an insignifigant amount in just to be safe and that it doesnt become limiting.

Depends on what the product is. Iodide will not remain iodide when highly diluted in the presence of oxygen. That said, the things it may turn into (iodate and I2) are things some people dose anyway.
