Iodine: Is there a difference between brands???

I'm having the oh so awful problem of corals growing too much. They need to be fragged... I've only heard of Lugols solution, but is it OK to use any brand of iodine while fragging?

If you mean as an antimicrobial, only Lugols and products made from it (or other forms of I2) will work.

Most iodine supplements are iodide (I-), which is not active.
