iodine od

Is there some heavy metal remover or something I can use to remove the zinc and copper? I thought I read something room triton would bind been to make them removable by gac? Idk how to get these out, water changes at 30g at a time isn't going to cut it I don't think. Need to do something faster.

Triton has a product, but I do not know how well it works. My concern is that it will lower other things too, even if they are already too low. That may also be true of the alternatives, however, such as a polyfilter, which can be a good bet for copper, but I don't know how well it works at the level you current have.

I'm highly debating mixing up 120g or so for a big change, but I have no way to heat that much all at once. Or do it as fast as i would need to.

how much water can you mix at once and heat up? I live in florida so water temp is about the same as the tank and don't heat anything currently.

However, i understand other places dont have that luxury.

I would keep it simple and do a few changes over a period of time. If I had this big of a tank I might do smaller changes over a longer period of time or just keep doing it. There is someone on either this forum or another that does a 1 gallon change per day with good results.

I feel your pain with losing all of those acros and am sorry you lost them. I don't think iodine did it and it might have been po4.
