Iodine

Does anyone have experience using the salifert iodine test kit I dont understand it 2 types of testing that can be done I test my levels and to begin with it was reading 0.01 yellow then I followed the instructions and added the othe regent it turned really dark blue im not sure if I need to add any salifert iodine

Maybe you did it wrong? I always go by the combined one. If its really blue like it says with noticeable tiny particles then it is high levels. If combined test is over .2 that is when you would want to do "next step".

That's what it was like rally dark blue almost black I did tge last test on the instructions bud ill give it another go in half hr and post pics

I did both test again the top test 0.01-0.03
The second test is 0.01 on the iodide chart and after that I added another 3 drops as instructed then it was 0.03 on the iodate chart must of done the test wrong last time would this be meaning the concentration is at 00.1

At any given time there is different types of iodine species. Iodide + Iodate would be closer to your actual levels. This was just " combined" or both "iodide, and combined"?

So why do salifert call it iodine if it increases iodide or iodate I sound stupid its hard to understand

Use both iodide, and iodate. I personally only do the iodate one.
