I've recived my last icp test and everything looks good except for iodine. Came back at 10.59ug/l and icp from 4 months ago was also low at 7.33. I know its very harmful to overdose just curious if I should be concerned or not on dosing.

All I ever hear is that it's incredibly common for ICP tests to show low iodine. Just find a reliable low key dosing regimen or do regular water changes.

Iodine dosing really got the 'caution, can be dangerous' label back in the day when Lugols from a pharmacy was used extensively (Lugols is a solution of potassium iodide with iodine in water). Strong stuff, indeed.

Most people now use a commercial product. I use Kent Marine Tech 1, for example, which is potassium iodide + stabilized iodine and these are much safer to use.

Just make sure you follow label instructions. You can get an iodine test kit, but it will only measure some of the many 'species' (types) of iodine so it doesn't give you the whole story (iodine species can change from one into the other in the reef tank).
