Iover size and plubing

Ok so I have this large over flow it's about 16 inch long and 4 inch deep it was just in a box I was gonna use on a fresh water tank but went canister instead. I Wana use it in this 25 gallon cube. What size pipe should I use and do you hink the over flow is too big

Sorry I can't help; I don't have anything as big as 16x4.
