I would like to take pictures of my setup with my phone. I know it is just a phone so I am really limited but I was wondering if anyone knows of an app or maybe technique that I can use to make the pictures turn out better. Currently I only get terrible pictures. For example

I've just turned mine to the hd mode and played with the focus. For closer shots I've actually used a magnifying glass.

funny how different phones handle the lights. my GS3 does pretty good on my tank, but it is much more in the 10,000k-14,000k range in color.

cameras operate on light. If you want to have a good image then you need to provide light that it can use to make a good image. Even though that sounds simple enough, people generally think that a camera should see what their eye sees. The best solution is to use some 6500k flourescent bulbs to light the tank for phone shooting.

Or look into your options for a iso slider turn it down. also look for a lighting option ie cloudy daylight ect.
Messing with settings went from first pic to second.
