My system is Iron Deficient. It doesn't seem to matter how much I dose and it still tests out at near zero. Think my Refugium is just stripping it out to quickly.

What other options do I have to enhance green coloration?

Honestly I was almost thinking that if there were an alternative that algae didn't love I could use the lack of Iron as a limiter for unwanted algae growth.

Iron tests always return 0. Don't worry about it.

If you want to dose iron, there is some DIY stuff in the chemistry forum. You can also buy an iron additive like Kent Marine's Iron and Manganese. Personally, I would start with the buying a bottle and seeing if it solves your issues. Yes, a refugium will consume lots of iron. So it pays to dose some, but don't dose until it shows up on your test kit. You don't need nearly that much in your system and it will precipitate out very fast at those levels.

Red Sea Coral Colors Part C is what I use for Fe. I just dose per Ca uptake a day which equates to .5ml/day. I do test it once a week and it always shows as 0.

I was wondering on mine. I tested a few times because I thought the 0 result must have been user error.

I don't believe green colors are manipulated or helped much at all from dosing iron. Where did you read about this?
