Pop to LFS and they had this Rainbow interstellar mushroom for 10$, orange jawbreakers for 20$ And green jawbreakers for 16$

Once I talked with the LFS manager he mentioned that he had this stock for weeks and no one seems to want to buy them, they only advertised as mushrooms, there’s no name associated with them, can I assume from this that most of my local reefers are just in for the names? They obviously big in the us market but here they don’t seem to sell as not popular.

All am saying is can you admire beauty without a name or is the name that really attracts you to a coral?

Coral names mean nothing to me, I prefer the scientific names. Fancy fad names are a successful marketing tool, but I choose corals based appearance and how the coral will work/grow in my specific tank.

A rose by another other name will smell as sweet...

They look like regular discomas to me. I have enough of those as I am sure most do.

They all are (named and unnamed) but some are more beautiful than others, I for example have no issues in admitting in liking named corals, most named corals are beautiful, if naming is wrong or not I believe there is many threads on it, if I can afford them that’s a different story :(
In this particular post we discussing unnamed corals in general there is a lot of them out der that look amazing but not getting no attention until popular and some with a name but not commonly known. I’ve seen people changing they’re mind in front of me about a coral once they find the coral has a name and a associate price tag in the us. The interstellar was no different.

Fancy names are nothing but a marketing ploy designed to drive up the price.

I could care less about the name. I want it to look interesting.

That bottom green one looks like a run of the mill green bumpy mushroom...at least that was what they were called 20 years ago ;) .
