Im torn between getting 2 Value RB or a single programmable photon32.

Is the sunrise/ set worth it? That seems like the only plus for this fixture...

If i went with 2 value ones i could have 10 more leds and if something happens to one i have the other as a back up. And $50 bucks in my pocket....

Anyone please tell me your thoughts.

I have two one is dimable and the other is set. I notice some of my corals are "ready" for the lights to go out at the end of the day in the display tank (it is not dimable)... I think if it was programmable to fade in and out my corals would enjoy it... this by how they are acting.

...for what ever that is worth to you...

Automated makes everything easier. And also with the intensity of LEDs ramp up and down prob much less intense on corals:)

Only thing that worries me is that the programmable one would have less Par on the 2 ends of the tank. But i guess if it has the things to snap on a optic i could always add them....

Dimmable all the way. Leds can burn corals because of the singular points of light and intensity. Programmability allows you to more closely simulate what happens in nature, variable PAR (due to waves, cloud cover, water clarity, and solar activity).

I think were going to get the Photon. I know if im gonna get the value i would want the photon after a while. And i figure go big or go home. Lol

That's right! Go big or go home. I just set up my 120 with AI sol blues and I couldn't be happier! I been up night after night playing with them... And they weren't even over my tank! Lol but to answer your question definitely go dimmable, sunrise to sunset just makes it much nicer I watched mine today do it's first sunrise and it's really nice it gave my corals the chance to wake up before the lights hit full intensity and so far everything is open and loving the lights

I have the Orphec 156 pr and they have two settings. Blue on first and last. Daylight on 7-8 hours. They are awsome. My corals have never looked better.
