Is a Ricordia garden possible?

I have a sexy zoa garden that's about 8-10 months away from completely covering their rock!

I would like to do something similar with ricordias if it's possible. Do they do well in large groups and fairly close proximity?

Can you do anything to encourage this? I have one now but when it was a baby frag, it moved itself to a pebble the size of a marble. It’s nearly wrapping itself around it now and I’m not sure how I can help it.

Any ideas?

Definitely. LEAVE THEM ALONE. Goes for any coral really. The less you change, the better the coral can adapt and go on to thrive. Every time you move it or change something, reset that timer. Mushrooms are corallimorphs (between coral and anemones) so they can move if they don't like where they are, but they often leave babies when they do move (pedal laceration). I wouldn't try to force this as when they move and are stressed they don't tend to leave babies or nearly as many if they do.

I’ve been making a little ricordea garden in my tank. Partly trying to consolidate them after one was moved by a tuxedo urchin and zapped one of my acans. I just added a Florida and waiting to see if it can live with the Yumas. I’m planning on adding more soon.

I usually build rocks of them. Usually if you buy them in bulk they may be attached to a tiny piece of rock. Tube of superglue and create a colony. Likewise loose ones like yours, on a pebble, get glued to a colony rock. I hate now where most people selling have attached a single to a frag plug (and jacked the price). Not too bad if its just a small piece of rock which you can break off and glue it to a real rock. Loose ricordia can be superglued also but prefer a small piece of net to hold them on a rock until they attach.

When gluing do you dab and dry them?
I have had great success with cutting/dragging them as well.

I do especially if its not attached to anything and of course the spot on the rock. I put them on a papertowl and dry both sides just before gluing. You don't need much glue. Just enough to hold them on the rock and get them to attach before they separate from the super glue. Right after gluing I stick them in a container of salt water for a few minutes. I use gorilla super glue gel and the water contact makes it set very fast.
