Is a ro/di system worth it?

I don't even have a tank going yet so as far as experience I'm at -10 
but after a little research I myself decided RO/DI is the way to go. A thought for you as well if your on a budget as I am for sure. I found a 6 Stage RO/DI for $50 that needed some filters replaced. I picked a full replacement kit for $53 so I have $103 in it plus the guy threw in a TDS-3 meter pressure gauge and external transfer pump. So I figure I'm money ahead already !! Used may not be the way to go on everything but if you really look at a RO/DI "system" there is not much to them except for some 1/4 tubing and canisters. Sometimes those deals are just not out there in some areas but it don't hurt to look.
The filters and media is what counts to me !!
